About Aprender Português
Aprender Português is a reading project for learners who want to spend time with Portuguese literature in European Portuguese.
Why it began
Miel Raphaelle and Iliad Davide are a sister and brother learning the language of their Portuguese father. They created the project to connect with Portuguese language, literature and culture, and to share a useful route into complete stories with other learners.
Who makes it
Miel and Iliad are the creators, developers and student project leads. Miel is 20 and studies computer science at university. Iliad is 16 and studies computer science at secondary school. Together they design and develop the site and share its editorial, technical and publication decisions.
How the work is made
The project combines documented historical sources with modern software, AI-assisted tools and advice from others where appropriate. These tools help with research, drafting, sentence alignment and checking. Miel and Iliad remain responsible for the editorial choices, the software and what the project publishes.
