Sources and rights

Every available title identifies the historical source used for its reading edition.

Public-domain sources

Aprender Português works from classical texts that the project understands in good faith to be in the public domain or otherwise lawfully usable. Sources may include historical editions, scans held by national or university libraries and reputable public-domain text repositories.

What the site does not copy

The site does not intentionally reproduce modern introductions, scholarly notes, editorial commentary, commercial covers, protected illustrations, publisher branding or other modern supplementary material unless separate permission exists.

Editorial note

These are graded reading editions for language learners, not scholarly critical editions. The project combines source comparison, editorial review, software checks and advice where available. It does not claim comprehensive professional line-by-line review.

Corrections and rights questions

Readers, teachers, Portuguese speakers, specialists and rights holders are welcome to report a textual or translation problem, lost nuance, incorrect attribution, source concern or other useful correction. We investigate specific reports and may update later versions.

Language-level references

The reading bands are informed by the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the Referencial Camões PLE. Neither organisation certifies or endorses this project.
